My Two Key Points for Choosing a Shampoo by JAY

When it comes to shampoo choice, I always look at two key points: whether I truly love the fragrance in shampoo, and whether it suits my sensitive scalp. Over the years of working with many clients, I have noticed that these two factors are also the most important for many people when deciding on their ideal haircare product.
Personally, I have delicate skin. Whenever I stay at hotels, I often find that the silicone shampoos provided can cause itching and discomfort. If the shampoo contains strong synthetic fragrance, the scent lingers on my skin and hair far too long, sometimes even making me feel unwell. Because of this, I prefer to use a non-silicone shampoo infused with essential oils, and once I find a fragrance that feels right for me, I stay loyal to it.
I am especially drawn to woody scents—cedar, hinoki, and sandalwood in particular. These natural, calming fragrances, deeply rooted in Japanese aromatherapy traditions, create a sense of relaxation and well-being that elevates my daily haircare routine.
For me, the perfect formula is simple yet luxurious: a non-silicone shampoo enriched with essential oils and finished with a soothing woody aroma. This combination not only supports scalp health but also transforms everyday washing into a moment of mindful self-care.
