Gray Coverage vs Highlights by SARA

05.04.2024

Haircare Tips

Recently, I’ve noticed a growing interest among those who have been coloring their gray hair to try highlights instead. I often get asked what getting highlights would be like. Various factors come into play for someone considering switching from gray coverage to highlights. We would have to consider the types of products previously used, whether they plan to have treatments like wavy or straight perms, and the current condition of their hair. For example, if a client has moderately sparse gray hairs but has never colored it and is concerned about damage, I would recommend laying a subtle color over the gray hairs to create the likeness of highlights. There are a plethora of personalized approaches tailored to each individual’s needs. Tell us about how you envision the future of your hair for a personalized consultation.

Master

I have worked as a hairstylist for 18 years in Japan. I love to see the different hairstyles that relate to other cultures. I traveled to many countries and learned their unique hairstyles and techniques. I would pay attention to the suitability of the individual’s face and body shape and also to the feeling the client possesses.
I like to design hairstyles with a combination of haircuts and perm or highlights.
I also do bridal hair sets, Kitsuke (Kimono wearing), and eyelash extensions.
