My favorite dish “Kara-Age: Japanese fried chicken” by Yumi

Hello, this is Yumi from Viange hair.
Today, I would like to introduce to you my favorite dish.
Before I got married, I wasn’t really into cooking nor did I do much of it but now that I am married and my family loves to eat, I have to prepare meals everyday. It is not really my favorite dish but recently I’ve been cooking “Kara-Age” Japanese fried chicken for my daughter and it is a meal that she loves so much just like any other kids out there.
So I looked up a recipe for “Kara-Age” on the Internet and I found out that you have to marinate the chicken in a brine solution for about two hours. The brine is a mixture of water, sugar, and salt, which makes the meat tender; and soaking it for two hours allows the flavor of the brine to seep in through the meat. You can also rub grated apples on the chicken breast to make the meat tender and sweet which is something that the children will love.
After that, add soy sauce, sake, and grated ginger, let it sit for another 30 minutes, then dip it in a mixture of rice flour and cornstarch, and deep-fry it. With practice, I was able to improve my cooking skills and improve the taste and texture of my fried chicken. In the near future, I will try my best to cook more dishes that I will be good at.
I hope you will try this recipe too!
