Kylie’s Hometown Pride
12.30.2021

Have you heard of the Ise Shrine? I am from Mie Prefecture, growing up it’s been a family tradition to visit the shrine every new year. We would visit, pay our respects, eat hand-made sushi and return home.
Oise-mairi (visiting the shrine) has a long history, and during the Edo-period people would walk from Tokyo and various regions to come pay their respects. If one was not able bodied to travel to the shrine, it’s been said they would send their dog to visit the shrine in their place. I love my hometown because of its rich history, and the seafood is always delicious. If you ever get a chance, please visit.
