This movie is one of the classic old films that was released in 1991 and is one of the best movies of all time. I saw it for the first time when I was in high school, and at that time, I had not yet decided what I wanted to pursue, and thought of becoming a firefighter. I was so struck by the bravery of the firefighters and how brotherly love overcame a rivalry, that I kept watching it over and over again.

I’ve heard that 90% of firefighters in the U.S. became firefighters because of the movie, “Backdraft.” I was still in Japan at the time, and I gave up trying to become a firefighter in Japan because of the difficulty of getting the certification, but maybe if I pursued it I would have been a firefighter by now . It's been a while since I've seen this movie.
