My recent purchase is protein powder. I usually make myself a smoothie with fresh fruits and vegetables, but this time I’ve decided to venture into trying out protein powders. I’ve been interested in it for a while, but since I don’t regularly do any strenuous exercises I was always worried that the added calories from taking protein would lead to weight gain. However, I recently learned that it’s beneficial to have proper protein intake. But with so many options like plant-based or animal-sourced products I was back to being confused.
Although I started off with the low-calorie plant-based one, I found that whey proteins were rich in essential amino-acids. I made the switch once I finished my plant-based protein. I’m relieved there hasn’t been any noticeable weight gain for now, but I continue to drink it erring on the side of caution.
