How Childhood Inspired My Career — SHIHO
02.28.2026
Hello everyone,
Today, I’d like to share why I decided to become a hairstylist.
Ever since elementary school, I was naturally drawn to hair. I loved touching and styling it, and I remember playing “hair salon” with my older sister.
In Japan, we had swimming classes at school, and many of my friends struggled with how to manage their wet hair afterward. I would help redo their ponytails or braid their hair, and I remember how happy they were when I helped them.
Seeing their smiles made me happy, even as a child, and that’s when I decided I wanted to become a hairstylist.
No matter how old I get, bringing happiness to others continues to bring me joy.
After many years of dedication, I am now able to work as a hairstylist here in America. This career allows me to meet so many people, and I hope to continue treasuring each and every encounter.
