Nail polish and gel nails by KEIKO

The major differences between nail polish and gel nails lie in three key characteristics: drying time, longevity, and removal method.
Drying Time: Nail polish is said to take up to 24 hours to fully dry and be considered complete. Gel, on the other hand, doesn’t dry but rather sets or cures to be hardened. In a nail salon, your nails are typically finished after about a minute following the application of the gel top coat.
Longevity: Polish typically lasts for about a week before showing signs of chipping or wear at the tips. Gel, due to being cured and adhered to the nail surface through buffing, can last for approximately 3 to 4 weeks. Maintenance is necessary based on the wear of each application.
Removal: Polish can be easily removed with nail polish remover. Gel removal involves acetone and typically takes about 30 minutes at a salon as the gel is dissolved.
While gel nails are popular, polish can be done by anyone and has been a long-loved item. Enjoy switching between gel and polish depending on your current lifestyle and needs.
