JAY’s Something I am particular about

Finesse. I can sum it all up in this one word when it comes to my thought process for designing a client’s hairstyle. In Japanese there is a word, “Anbai” (seasoned plum), which refers to how a well-balanced amount salt bring out the natural flavor of the source, and that is the same for hair. Applying too much hair treatment can make the hair heavy, and overuse of the hair dryer can make it parched. Finding the balance between facial structure, the colors and shapes of their wardrobe, and taking into account the current season, skin tone and hair color. There is never just one answer, which is the fun of it. I engage with clients every day to find the aesthetic that suits them the best.
