One of my favorite things about working at Viange is that, even after all these years as a hairstylist, I still have moments when I think, “Oh, I never thought of doing it that way.”
With experience, you develop your own way of doing things. That’s a strength, but it can also make you a little set in your ways without realizing it. Sometimes, watching a teammate’s technique or hearing something they say to a client gives me a fresh perspective. There’s still so much to learn from the people around me, regardless of age or experience.
The time I spend with our clients is another reason I love this job. A conversation that starts with hair can turn into a chat about travel, food, or a new hobby. In my case, it somehow ends up being about rock climbing more often than I’d like to admit!
Our clients come in to get their hair done, but quite often, they’re the ones who leave me feeling recharged.
I love that a place so familiar can still offer new discoveries. And while I have my own approach, it’s refreshing to see how someone else does things differently.
For me, that’s what I love about working at Viange: the little moments that keep me curious, and the connections with people that make each day meaningful.
