It’s been about 12 years since I came to the United States. I met so many people in Japan, especially in Tokyo, and it’s been the same here in the U.S. No matter where you are, the connections you make are truly special. I’m just grateful to have a job that gives me so many of those opportunities.

In the U.S., I get to meet people from so many different backgrounds. When it comes to cutting hair, there are no borders—and those moments when I can make someone smile are what truly make me happy.

I also have many clients who come back after a year or even two, and being able to see them again, make them smile, and hear them say “thank you” is what makes this work so rewarding.
