My Daily Routine & Self-Care
07.13.2026
I have two morning routines. One of them is stretching. Doing hair is quite physical work, so it is very important to keep my body flexible. This stretching is called "Lazy Yoga Stretching." I learned it from a book that modified yoga into simpler stretching movements. It is very easy to do, but it still effectively stretches my body. I also do funny face yoga. With this one, you stretch your facial muscles by making funny faces. The face consists of a lot of muscles, and I believe you can keep your face looking younger by doing it. Needless to say, I need to do this one when I am alone! My other routine is having breakfast. I rarely skip it, and I have a particular way of enjoying my morning meal: a Nagoya-style breakfast. My hometown, Nagoya, is known for its café culture. It's very simple: a cup of coffee, any style of egg, fruit or salad, and a slice of toast (I have toast on work days and fancy pastries on my days off). I can’t start my day without them. I started stretching when I started working, but when it comes to my Nagoya breakfast, I have been eating it for as long as I can remember—maybe since kindergarten.
These routines truly make my day.
