I have a few favorite places in the U.S., but today I’d like to introduce you to New Mexico, a place I visit often. I first started going there because my wife frequently traveled to the area for work, and I began accompanying her.
New Mexico is a truly unique and mystical place, shaped by vast landscapes, ancient Native American civilizations, and the long history of the Earth itself. I love buying Native American jewelry in cities like Santa Fe and Albuquerque, and I really enjoy the spicy yet addictive cuisine made with green chiles—it’s a favorite spot of mine that offers an experience unlike anything found in Japan, where I grew up, or California, where I currently live.
Another major attraction is the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta—one of the world's largest hot air balloon events—held every October; it’s something I’m hoping to experience for myself on a future visit.
