Understanding Seasonal Hair Shedding & Scalp Care
04.01.2026
Hi everyone, this is Yumi, a stylist at Viange FUGA.
With the weather lately going back and forth between hot and cold, how have you all been doing?
Recently, I’ve been hearing a lot from clients about increased hair shedding, thinning hair, and a lack of volume.
One of the reasons for this can actually be seasonal changes.
During colder months, blood circulation tends to slow down more easily. On top of that, indoor heating can cause dryness, leading to a dry and stiff scalp. In a way, winter can be a time when your scalp loses a bit of its vitality.
Hair also has a natural growth cycle, and during seasonal transitions, it’s normal for shedding to temporarily increase.
That’s why taking good care of your scalp during this colder season is so important—so that when your hair grows back, it comes in healthy and strong.
A great place to start is by keeping your scalp soft. This helps improve circulation and keeps your scalp in good condition.
If you’re not sure how to care for your scalp or where to start, I highly recommend trying a scalp treatment during your next haircut. It’s a great way to support healthy hair from the root.
