In my life before this pandemic, I was completely focused on my to-do list day in and day out. Now, I catch myself checking the calendar quite often just to see what day it is and make sure I’m not missing any upcoming holidays. While this can be frustrating at times, adapting to this slower-paced lifestyle and spending quality time with those around me has become quite a refreshing experience.

Not everyone is fortunate enough to see their family members on this special day, but some of you are lucky enough to see them more often nowadays. I hope that you will have more opportunities to see your loved ones smile more than usual because of the situation we’re in. Even though this pandemic has been tragic for many of us, I truly wish something positive would come from this experience. I hope that we will all spend more time talking to the ones we love, especially our mothers, even if it’s just over a phone or video call. If you’re fortunate enough to be living with your family, or still have your family, I hope you will take every opportunity to spend more quality time with them.

This pandemic has made me realize how valuable time is with our loved ones and the importance of cherishing every moment without taking it for granted.
