Importance of conditioner – Hair Care Tips by Kaori
07.07.2023

I had talked about the importance of shampoo previously. This month, I would like to talk about hair conditioners and treatments. Do you use them?
Many of you think about the difference between hair conditioner and hair treatment.
Then, why do you need to use them?
The purpose of using shampoo is to cleanse. Clean the dirt and excess oil from the hair and the scalp. You must bring it back to the hair’s normal state after shampooing. Because sometimes, it removes too much moisture from the hair, and the cuticles remain open after the shampooing. That is the reason why you need to use the conditioner.
What is the difference?
Hair conditioner: Basically strengthens the hair by closing the cuticles and coats the surface of the hair. That will prevent breakage and for more manageability. Also, to moisturize the hair, just like you would apply face moisturizer after washing your face.
Treatment; To repair the damage of the hair from hair color, perm, or intense sunlight by nourishing the hair. Recently, most hair treatments also contain ingredients for hair shaft protection.
Those are the fundamental differences. Having said so, the difference between them gets closer today. Many conditioners contain a lot of beneficial ingredients. Also, definitions of those products depend on the products companies. There is nothing about which is better.
Instructions; How to use.
- Shampoo the hair and squeeze excess water from the hair.
- Apply conditioner or treatment from hair ends to mid-shafts.
- Gently comb through with your fingers from mid to end. (Can be with wide tooth comb)
- Massaging the hair lightly with squeezing movements
- You can apply excess products to the upper part of your hair but not too close to the scalp.
- Rinse off thoroughly from roots to ends until you don’t feel the sliminess.
It is a good idea to ask your hairstylist for the most suitable products for your hair condition.
At last, never leave the shower without using one of them. This is an essential hair care routine for preventing further damage.
