Now we’ve come to making the cut into the first line we previously discussed.

You will do this by considering the position of the hair, as shown below, and go straight into cutting without sectioning the hair. 

You may not be able to do this all in one pass, however, since you are now close to your initial line you can go into fine-tuning the look.

Once you’ve made your first cut, check and determine if the line suits your client, and then go in with any fine-tuning adjustments. The initial pass is made with these adjustments in mind. Sectioning, slicing, and making your cut one panel at a time is less forgiving when you need to make adjustments, and will be more time-consuming. Training yourself to go straight into the cut in one shot will further elevate your skills as a professional.
