Vol.22 Tailored Hair by Aki – Haircut : The Bob Edition

The inner portion is carved out for a stable outline, making styling easier and creating a long-lasting style that will not fall apart.
From here, we will build the design upon the foundation you’ve just created. For many bobs, vertical overlap is an essential element of the hairstyle. The length of the hem and the overlapping layers are only the foundation, and the elements to be removed from this point will bring out the true shape.
First, begin layering the surface to create a slight roundness.
Do not just remove the volume and fullness, but rather create the form towards the final silhouette. Simply carving out the inside or adding layers to the surface will not create a soft silhouette. As shown in the figure below, the vertical overlap should blend in as you move toward the ends of the hair.
From here, we will expand with horizontal slices and make adjustments to the overlapping hairs.
Make each slice as if you are carving out vertical grooves.
The slices will be laid on top of each other.
The hair from the top slices will fall into the grooves and blend right in.
With this technique, you can create a solid bob even with unruly hair.
