Discerning and successfully combining straight and curved design elements is a testament to your skill and creativity as a hair designer. Understanding and properly using these basic elements is essential to further draw out the beauty that each client possesses.
Perms Maximize the Power of Curves
Perms are one of the best ways to acquaint your hair with curves. It adds movement and texture to straight hair, bringing change and depth. Perm techniques are diverse and can create all kinds of curls and waves, from loose perms to beach waves.
- Traditional Perm: This technique uses rods of a certain size and shape to create an overall uniform curl. Traditional perms add volume and body, creating a more feminine, classic style.
- Spiral Perm: Spiral perms are curled vertically across the entire length of the hair, creating long, loose curls. This can create a more natural and somewhat bohemian look.
- Beachwave Perm: Beach wave perm creates more natural, casual curls. The creates a relaxed wave like you had just spent a summer day at the beach.
- Digital Perm: Digital or hot perms create more controlled curls that retain their shape. This uses a special machine with temperature control. The resulting curls hold well for a long period and are easy to manage.
These will be determined by the client's requests, hair quality, hair length, and overall style to determine the appropriate type of perm. Understanding the dynamics between straight lines and curves allows the perm to best complement and highlight the characteristics and personalities of each client.
